In my experience, the problem is that the regulars get used to how it's supposed to work and then assume others can sort it out - and for a large percentage that works. It's actually part of the appeal. Someone new to the area pulls up and has to slow down and think and sort it all out, which can be annoying if you're behind them but ideally is safer. But it's that other littler percentage of newbies who don't know how it works and still just go blasting through that scare me (because the regulars aren't always looking for them anymore, because they know what's supposed to be happening). But then again, those idiots would be the ones blasting through the red lights anyway.
I guess you don't travel the interstate West Bound and get off at Well Road between 5 & 5:30 during the week much. It's a clusterfart! Getting on the interstate going west bound at Well Road was never an issue. it was getting the West Bound 18 wheelers turning left across Well Road traffic to go to the truck stop on the south-side of the interstate that was the problem. I personally believe the round-a-bout at Well road solved anything but where to throw money away.
Our little traffic circle on the Minden side of Homer works pretty well. Visitors can gum it up, and locals go through it too fast, but it mostly works well. If it were multi lanes it would likely be more of an adventure.
If you'll notice, the west bound off ramp will bypass the traffic circle (almost complete). That will take most of the traffic off the circle since most of those peeps are going on toward Cypress.
Yes, getting the Pilot visitors back westbound on I-20 was the main reason for the traffic circle.
Again, once complete it will help the back up of traffic northbound on Well Road and those exiting at Well Road.

Plant some trees.
I hear there is a private group of fans who has taken it upon themselves to work with the with Tech, Tech SGA, and Tech Greeks to address some of the issues that Tech is not able to spend on at this time. I expect there will be plenty of opportunity for us as fans to give money and/or labor to help make these things happen. Some of those great caring fans of LaTech post on this board from time to time. I'd love to hear from one of them to find out what we can do to help.
They are still working on the fence around the right field seating area. Any trees would have to be behind that area. There can't be that much room between where the back fence will be and the line where the railroad would have veto power on trees being planted.
Hopefully at least one row of trees can go in, but there can't be much room beyond that.
