Police will have to work the intersection and force a right turn only onto I-20. It should only take about 10 minutes to clear out the traffic after 8 years of game day atmosphere destruction.

It is supposed to happen sooner rather than later. The LA 507 bridge at Simsboro was totally replaced in about three weeks from late November to mid December using precast bridge decks. Hopefully that is the type of closure the Cooktown Road bridge will have instead of 9 months like the US 80 bridge at Calhoun.

For westbound I-20 traffic being forced to turn south onto Tech Drive out of the new lot across from J.C. Love, the next turn west is onto Barnett Springs Road. The only two north outlets are onto Maple Street (narrow residential street) or onto LA 818 south of the dangerous substandard railroad crossing.

Traffic should be allowed to turn north onto Tech Drive from the east exit of that lot. Shouldn't take long to empty that lot since it holds just under 500 cars.

The interstate is in Ruston starting at the sign but the South Service Road with the bars is in Grambling.

I have heard it floated that they want to build traffic circles for some stupid reason on either end of the Cooktown/Tech Drive bridge. If they do that, it may take a little longer.

Yes, the city limit line does something funny right there where Beau Vine and El Toro are Grambling, but RJHS is Ruston.

They work well after the "regulars" get accustomed to using them. See what they've done at Well Road in WM for an example of how they can work. MUCH more traffic there than at Cooktown/Tech Drive. It's all about freeing up the turning lane into I-20 west.

Need more everywhere! They're energy saving, time saving, safer and cheaper in the long run for governments.

The fewer traffic lights, the better.
