I always thought that the problem was not the number of hotel rooms, but the lack of full service hotels with conference rooms. I could have misunderstood, though. I always thought Tech could go in with a private entity to open a full service hotel that was only open during events. Conference space could be in the hotel or it could be attached to a current building that has plenty of meeting rooms/classrooms.

The following are some changes in the bid specifications for 2021 (only):
• If an institution is selected to host a preliminary round(s), but that given institution’s team is not selected to the championship, the institution will still be required to host.
• 16 predetermined regional sites will be selected; and of those sites, eight super regional sites will be selected at the conclusion of the regionals.
• No minimum financial guarantees. The host reporting system has been modified to allow budget submissions without a guarantee.
......The state of Louisiana needs to remove all those silly restrictions. The Texas Rangers packed 40K+ fans into their stadium on MLB's opening day last week. If you take an airplane flight, you'll be sitting shoulder to shoulder with other people you don't know, on a packed airplane. It's game over for COVID now. It's time for Louisiana to recognize this and move on with life.

So our stadium capacity is barely 2000? There's never been an official breakdown of capacity after completion. Advertised was 2500. How many chairbacks (1500?), berm is supposed to seat how many? Not another 1000. Then of course there's standing room tics. Suits are (16 X 4) which is 64. I guess our goal is to routinely sell 1000 season tics? and then if that becomes routine we can add 500 seats to accommodate single game tics?
In the old stadium it was advertised to seat 3000 - which rarely reached 80% capacity so I get the concept of having a quaint seemingly full environment. This year is an anomaly in that season tic sells momentum was defused by Covid so we will never have an opportunity for a full stadium, so true demand to capacity cant be measured. Still seems to me we shot a little low with seat capacity.

We need to get some grass growing --or put down some artificial turf-- on the OUTSIDE of the Love shack, between the stadium and the streets. Nothing but dirt out there.
