Saturday morning and they're getting ready to pour the slab for the office & locker room part of the baseball building. Down the street they are busting out the forms on the first grandstand section of the softball field. Not wasting any time.

I lived in Caruthers and Hutcheson Hall. I had great memories there, but those were some crappy and ugly dorms. The metal louvers on the window did not age well.

The steps that led down to the back door of the Hut could get a little tricky after a night of drinks and karaoke at Nicky’s.

Looking good so far, we have additional sections in the queue to be built like the RF berm grandstand/dugout, grandstand/dugout in front of the office, and also (I assume) a training facility.

.....Looks like there's a lot of open space back there? Could that space be "rented out" for parties and such?

I added the rendering over Google maps (very crude job), but it shows what it would look like in conjunction with the dorms.

There might be room in front of the dorms to construct a patio or deck (left of the batter's eye).

So, the building you have behind the left/center field fence is not real?

It would be nice to find a little space out there for a party pavillion (imagine Argent Pavillion II) or "Beer garden" space that the school could rent out to groups. Church groups, fraternities, sororities, local Lion's Clubs, local companies, etc.... may be interested. Could be an additional revenue source.

That's EXACTLY what I've got in mind. Party deck/Beer Garden. That place would become so popular you wouldn't be able to buy your way in. We're fools if we don't do THIS!
