You are ABSOLUTELY WRONG! Holtz is the ONE (1) GUY in the world that was really in the position to do something about this, or prevent it. Holtz recruited these athletes. He "raised" 'em in his system. He monitored 'em. And Holtz is responsible for NOT developing a QB2 well enough to take snaps in Smith's absence.

Why do people like you insist on giving Holtz a free pass? Holtz is the only adult (that we know of) squarely in the position to have prevented this.

Holtz is solely responsible for Tech not having a competent back-up QB or two. He hasn’t have one for at least two years now, knew it and has done nothing to remedy the situation.

UAB losing the conference championship 6-49 is embarrassing to Tech.

Fault lies with players that broke team rules

The Fightin' Kiffens won the "Ole Miss" Bowl. And yes, UAB looked like a pathetic bunch of petty thugs...that they are. And all this talk about Clark being such a great coach, his team was not prepared and was clueless when the zebras were not carrying them. Still both Clark and Kiffen have accomplished something Holtz can't.

Well of course it's still JMar's fault! But there is no way in Hades that Holtz told our ADM to suspend JMar for the very next two games (Marshall and UAB) with UTSA still out there as our final game. Surely somebody thought about and then suggested splitting the two game up into two halves of games and then one whole (UTSA) or just Marshall and UTSA allowing us to play UAB with JMar, like I've stated on here already. If not, then shame on them (AD, Pres., Council or all three) for being short sided as they chose to also punish the fan base, Alumni and the rest of the team as well. No way Holtz did this as it had to be our AD, Pres., Council or all three. My guess is the first and our Pres., whom I think has been great for Tech, made a mistake and went with it. But it's still a "secret".

Secondly I agree with you per QB2 and posted 3 weeks ago the same as you, "Holtz is responsible for NOT developing a QB2 well enough to take snaps in Smith's absence". Fact!

    And yes I'm still PO'd!

If you don’t understand why anyone could be mad with 9 wins, and a 6th bowl, you’ve had too much of the kool aid. What could have been continues to be a difficult pill to swallow.

True. 23 year olds are not adult. I mean they are still on their parents health insurance until 26, so how can we expect them to follow the rules!!

We're way past the "follow the rules" stage. But if you are going to recruit players that "don't follow the rules", then you damn well better be prepared to play without 'em on occasion. That means preparing a backup QB who can do something more than just take snaps. And for goodness sake, I'm not blaming QB2. He can't help it if his coach was too dumb to give him "playing time" leading up to this. This was on Skip Holtz.

I think both are true though. Players can be boneheads and coaches can be boneheads at the same time.

Those people who failed us should be running laps today.
I agree they are a conference favorite, but how does that figure into winning the division?
