What about calling delay of game? 5 yards and auto first down. 2nd offense by same player results in ejection for remainder of the game and 1st half if next.

You can't have on-field officials looking at it and trying to determine if an injury is legit or not. Just make it flat. ALL injuries that require play stoppage and trainer assistance comes with a mandatory X amount of plays off the field for proper medical evaluation/treatment. 3-4 plays sounds good to me!
That video was too funny. One of the worst flops ever.
I'm telling you guys, ALL injuries that require play stoppage and trainer assistance should come with a mandatory benching of the player for one full qtr, for "health evaluation purposes". Anything less (e.g., 3 or 4 plays, a series or two, etc...) is too much for officiating crews to keep up with, and doesn't look like you are taking the players injury seriously.
By the way, a rule like this will speed the games up too, which will be good for fans. Because we'll have fewer players laying on the field waiting for someone to come pick their ass up.
We all know that games have been getting longer and longer. When we played UNT a few weeks ago, they must have had 15 players go down with injuries that caused play stoppage.
That is my point as well. As others have pointed out it would be hard to track x plays and expect the refs to catch it. For that reason making the player ineligible for the entire series might be more manageable. Also as HD pointed out below that would only be for injuries that require an injury stoppage. If they make it to the sideline on their own they should be allowed to continue.
