If Louisiana Tech, Southern Miss and UAB each win their final regular season game and finish 6-2, the tie would not be broken through the first seven tie-breakers and it would go down to tie-breaker No. 8: “If still tied, the representative will be the team that has not participated in the championship game most recently.” Southern Miss (2015) would win that tie-breaker ahead of Louisiana Tech (2016) and UAB (2018)

The Independence Bowl will be "pulling" heavily for Louisiana Tech and UNCheats Saturday. With a win Tech is a near lock for it, slim chance of Heart of Dallas.

A loss Saturday and New Orleans may be in the picture.

NOLA will be vs. C-USA Champ - probably App State - so that's not embarrassing. I wouldn't even mind us play UL-L in the Dome this year.

Selfishly, here is my wish list (I will be travelling to Florida Dec 20-29):
NOLA - would delay my portion of the trip
Gasparilla - just a few hours from my destination.
First Responders - would just keep driving past Shreveport
Frisco - would make my trip just a little longer

ranked team earning a spot in the Championship.
