UNLV game will not happen on September 5th. It's possible that it could be rescheduled for later in the year, but I don't think it will be.

According to this, TCU has open dates every weekend in September. And they haven't picked up their one OOC game yet. We could replace Baylor on our schedule with TCU on 9/26 (if Baylor drops us). We could also schedule the Frogs to open our season on 9/5 (to replace UNLV).

It sure would be nice to have a game before We start conference play on 9/12.
I would hope Baylor would chose us over Sisters of the Incarnate Word !!!
MAC just canceled their 2020 season.
I think at best we'll have a "no fans allowed" rule. I expect we'll see a complete cancellation as positive cases pop up among the players. The snowflakes will go nuts and demand football be cancelled.
Was College Football cancelled during the Spanish flu pandemic. Just curious. That was a much more devastating disease for young people
So, how does the MAC (and any other conference considering a season shutdown) expect to pay for all the non-revenue sports this coming school year if they are not playing football? We all know that "football drives the bus" for college athletics, meaning revenues from football are typically used to pay for most --if not all-- of a schools athletic budget.
Does the MAC shutdown mean no basketball, baseball, tennis or Olympic sports, etc.. in the coming school year for MAC schools?
With all due respect, I already knew that. But you didn't answer the real question. How do they intend to pay the athletic bills? They'll never make a dime playing spring football. And they'll have zero revenue coming in to pay for coaches, Olympic sports, etc.....
It sounds like the answer is, EVERY SPORT will be shut down for the foreseeable future. Period.
Rick Neuheisel on ESPN CFB XM saying his sources also told him behind close doors there was talk about Ohio State, Michigan, Nebraska, Penn State quietly reaching out to the Big 12. It starts .
How were they going to pay the bills even with a Fall season? Those schools struggle with attendance under normal circumstances. They weren't going to make any money playing a season this year no matter what once those money games went away.
I don't know if they made the right choice or not, but they were absolutely up against it no matter they decided.

Not sure if this will be reality.
