Do we need some rivalry trophies?

Seems like every conference game in the Big 10 (at least the pre-realignment Big 10) has a cool trophy with some back-story attached. And even the newer "rivalries" that are a little forced but might become something over time like LSU-Arkansas or Arkansas-Missouri have a tangible something that the winning team gets to bring home each year.

I want to say that when the ULM thing picked up in '97 there was an I-20 trophy or plaque or something.

But past that we don't really have anything. Even our old rival has a cool trophy with SFA.

Shouldn't we have some kind of golden pine tree for the Rivalry in Dixie or like a golden slide rule for the winner of Tech-Rice?

Couldn't BB&B do a fund raiser to have a copy of Tony Franklin's book bronzed for us and MTSU to play for?

One of the lamest is the trophy for the winner of Lamar v ULL: The Sabine Shoe.

A damned shoe. LSU fans themselves rip on "The Golden Boot," but a shoe is much worse. LOL.

I like this idea! The Tech/Southern Miss game should definitely have one. I would go for the Rice/Tech one too, if it was like the one described above - something academic related.

I don't think trophies make a difference in the Rivalry. It has to be created on the field and between fans.

UAB is a rivalry - we hate them, they hate us.
USM should be a rivalry - but there's not that much animosity (especially since they own us on FB field)
UNT could turn into one
Rice?
UTSA - probably would if they beat us a couple of times, but we've owned them except 2013

I'm not suggesting that anyone is going to become more invested with the creation of a trophy, I just think it makes it more fun.
