Meanwhile..............down in Cajunville it has been announced that UL-LAF will face Miami (of Ohio) in the Lending Tree Bowl in Mobile, Alabama. The weeping and gnashing of teeth has begun in earnest down in Lafayette as they ready themselves for the inevitable comparisons that will be made between our two opponents. They see this as just another injustice done to them. They can not understand why the nation doesn't see them as the #2 college football program in Louisiana. They're all convinced that next year the Sun Belt Conference will steal many of the bowl tie-ins that CUSA currently enjoys.

As for Tech’s bowl game, we’d better win it or rather Holtz had better because the next 2-3 years developing a new QB isn’t going to be pretty.

Holtz has a tendency to put all of his marbles in one basket a.k.a. JMar’s nickel bag and he smoked it. Speaking of Smith, I wonder what the challenges are going to be like to keep him straight for the next few weeks.

It’s been reported that there won’t be “tie-ins” starting next year. Basically, C-USA will be in New Orleans and 6 ESPN bowls

I think a lot of people's views are skewed by the 2003 Miami game. That was one of the most well-attended games of Tech ever (I think). Never mind that half were there for Brock Berlin and it was 16 years ago.

I don't like the fact that Tech is playing in the Independence Toilet Bowl!!! However, we will have a good opponent. That almost makes up for playing in that DUMP of a stadium!!
