Hhmmm... they were in the Orange Bowl and the top 10 two years ago under Richt, but fell off last year and he retired. They just see more Al Golden years ahead of them. Boo hoo for them. The Schnellenberger, Johnson, Erickson years are long ago and will never return. I say enjoy the beaches, life is too short! That’s correct. I don’t think there is a bowl hierarchy in C-USA this year (i.e. nothing specifically states that the C-USA conference champ plays in ____ bowl). However, it is designated that the Sunbelt champ plays in the New Orleans Bowl, unless said team is the the highest ranked G5 (the G5 team that would play in the cotton bowl). This year the highest ranked G5 was Memphis, so they’ll be in the cotton bowl. The highest ranked Sunbelt was App State, so they’ll be in the New Orleans Bowl. Birmingham and Ruston are both 5 hours from New Orleans, so I think UAB was given equal preference to Tech, despite instate ties.
I was a freshman the last time Tech played Miami, and it was ugly. I’m looking forward to the rematch.
Will have to watch on TV. Already obligated between Christmas and New Years.

Yeah, last time we tangled with Miami in Shreveport we got mangled! That was an exceptionally good "U" team then, not so good these days. We have a legit shot at this. And, given Holtz's capacity to prepare the team for bowls, I'm confident we got this!
