Well the only thing I can establish with independent certainty is my own existence. And I'm still only about 98% there. Beyond that though, I have to rely on outside sources for information.

Even more so since it's a plausible explanation. It's consistent with what we know about Tech's strong commitment to ethical standards, and what we know about young people's legendary decision-making skills.

Amended question, my father who is handicapped and has trouble getting around might be going. Are the shuttles feasible for someone a walker or a wheelchair?

So two guys got a two game suspension for weed and one got a one game suspension? Seems unlikely.

If of them 'fessed up, took immediate responsibility for his actions, and got a lighter sentence, then yes -- that seems entirely likely.

This is a pretty standard feature of any rule system, from toddlers in preschool, to traffic violations, to international war crimes tribunals -- own up to your actions, say you're sorry, and you'll often dramatically reduce your penalty.

My understanding was that Jackson got the SAME penalty, he just didn't delay it. He served his suspension against UNT (not publicized) AND Marshall. PD can correct me if I'm wrong.

Conspiracy seems strong. Wrong-headed piety might be a better label for it. If the council had discretion, we have a case of wrong-headed piety. Those here with "sources" close to the situation seem confident that the council had no discretion or choice regarding the suspensions.

I have to question that then.

Discretion is precisely the WHOLE POINT of a council.

I imagine they have discretion in setting our policy. They would not have discretion in deciding whether or not we follow the policy they created. If our policy states that a second positive results in an automatic 2-game suspension, they are compelled to follow the policy.

If, however, that was not the policy, we COULD have a situation where we cut off our nose to spite our rock star.

PD and others have been pretty consistent in their understanding of the situation and they have consistently said that the council had no choice in this particular situation.

Are we still talking about going to the game here or has that moved somewhere else?

If here, based on the weather forecast our group has expanded from three to ten and we purchased a tailgate spot in the 'White Lot'. Come on folks, take advantage of the situation and bring a lot of blue to Shreveport!

    Go Dawgs!
