No surprises here. Good luck to him!
Like I said earlier -
One of the TOP 10 all-time Bulldawgs in my book
Came in with great expectations and exceeded them
Class act on and off the field
He is the most driven player we have seen come our way in a long long time
I hope he gets drafted by an AFC team...
''Don't be a bad dagh..."
This shows that big-time players can come to Tech, make All-American, and leave for the NFL after 3 years. I'm sure they are being told by the big schools that the no one notices them at a school like Tech. Wrong! Talent like Amik's can't be hidden.
No surprise. I will enjoy watching his success on Sundays.
Does he play in the bowl game?
Amik
Willie Smith
Doug Evans
Trammon Williams
Is that our top 4 ever conrnerbacks?
He tweeted a response when someone floated his skipping the bowl game. He denied, but he may have gotten different advice since that time.
He will not play according to Cory Diaz article in the Pacific (Guam) Daily News.
Amik states he's recovering from some injuries and trying to get healthy for draft process.
The star cornerback said he has been battling a groin and hip flexor issues for a while and that getting my body healthy to begin training for the Draft process was the most important factor in the decision to not suit up in the bowl game.
"(Louisiana Tech head coach Skip) Holtz and I were talking about it," Robertson said. "They tried to sit me out of practice last week. I tried to go one last time, but I was losing a step and the pain wouldn't stop. So they took me out of practice."That night, I talked to my mom (Kima) and my pops (Arthur Watts) and that's when we made the decision (to forego my senior year and enter the NFL Draft. I told coach Holtz and he understood, and he didn't want me to hurt myself even more. That wouldn't be able to help me in the future."
Gee, what was Jaylon thinking!? He played in the bowl game, got hurt, and ruined any chance he had of a pro career.
No, wait....
Disappointed he won’t be playing for us agains The U, but I thank him for being a great Tech player and wish him all the best!
This is a really troubling trend. No one is a bigger fan of Amik than me. But if guys like him won’t show up for their bowl game, then why should the rest of us?
In the end, we’ll all get a watered down product for our bowl game. If this trend continues, I can see a day when the bowl games become obsolete, and go away in favor of a bigger playoff system. At least with a playoff, the athletes will have a reason to hang around and play til the end.
It's a business. We are paying/hoping to see a game.
