Tate Martell. He was the heir apparent @ Ohio State until Justin Fields transferred in. So Vanilla Ice transferred to Miami. He's quit the team, re-joined the team. Seems like his head is messed up. Here is more info:

Check out QB1 on Netflix to see what a douche Tate is....and how good Fields and Fromm are.

Apologies to those who like to see field goal attempts. None today. But we had plenty o’ punts.

Nice crowd and a nice win against a “big time” program. The weather was great to boot.

The end was puzzling to me. JMar slid short of the goal line, presumably to be able to run out the clock. I think a couple of kneel downs would have run out the clock. BUT, we then run the ball. It was great we scored a TD, but what if Tech had fumbled and Miami ran it back for a TD? They would have tied or, with a 2 point conversion, beaten us when we could have been up 14-0 of JMar had just completed the run the first time.

What did I miss? Is there some sound strategy to what Tech did there?
Nope. J'Mar didn't understand what he was doing. Because our lead was only 7 points, he should have simply run into the end zone and taken the points. As you correctly stated, sliding and killing the play left us open to a potential fumble or turnover on subsequent snaps. But J'Mar was awful all day. We won in spite of him. Your understanding of a potential fumble on the next play, etc... is exactly correct.

As BlueDawg said, at least we don't have to worry about J'Mar anymore.

I do want to mention that the LA Tech defense played a great game. Connor Taylor was a beast all day, and very deserving of the Defensive MVP award that they gave him. And our DB's played excellent pass defense, got 2 INT's, and tackled extremely well. The tackling appeared to be much improved. We never missed Amik on defense.

It should be noted that Miami was never held below 16 points in a game all season, and the Miami offense averaged 25.6 points per game this year.

....and I'd guess that the "1" four or five star player on our roster was Amik, who didn't even play in the game.

BTW saw some Auburn fans in Natchitoches yesterday...they were all decked out in their orange and blue Auburn gear. They saw my Tech cap and said they watched our game and were so elated we bashed Miami. "We hate the "U"!" they said. They were also very impressed with our defense.
