We already knew with 5 home games, this wasn't going to be the best schedule. I hate having the back-to-back home games in October, however, the 2nd is Marshall so it should draw a larger crowd than a normal back-to-back. I don't like play USM so early or ending the season in Miami.
    2020 Louisiana Tech Football Schedule
    Sept. 5 at UNLV
    Sept. 12 at Southern Miss
    Sept. 19 PRAIRIE VIEW
    Sept. 26 at Baylor
    Oct. 3 Bye
    Oct. 10 UTEP
    Oct. 17 MARSHALL
    Oct. 24 at UTSA
    Oct. 31 UAB
    Nov. 7 at North Texas
    Nov. 14 RICE
    Nov. 21 at Vanderbilt
    Nov. 28 at FIU

That's not a bad schedule, except for 3 of the 4 OOCs being road games. Two are very winnable, and Baylor is Baylor, just lost their coach, so who knows...?

I like having Marshall and UAB at home, and Rice, OMG! the best 3-9 team in the nation! Better not sleep on them. I'm gonna go with 8-4, which is better than the 7-5 I usually predict.

    Another 9-3 record is manageable.

With no money game, you'd think so.

Crappy schedule for attendance. Pretty good schedule competitively.

Very doable...but I have concerns about 4 road games at: USM, Baylor, Vandy and FIU. Not to mention the possibility of a WTF game (loss at home), probably to Marshall.

It sucks that Baylor changed the date so late leaving us with only 2 choices for 9/12. Wish it had been UAB at home

Ending the season with two away games means that the dreaded "home game while students are on break" should be avoided.

I hate playing USM so early. I do like getting Baylor relatively early, but that one is a long shot. Looking at 3-2 coming into the Marshall game.

Baylor could be interesting with a new coach and those that eligible to leave going out in several cases. Since my daughter goes there now, we have watched a lot of games. Even with the good season they have had, they are very beatable if we play well. I think they have as many unknowns as we do now, including will the QB this year actually be back after several head injuries. I'd love to see a graduate transfer QB for us! I will be there with my blue and red on cheering for the Bulldogs that day! I would certainly love to get that W!

I think we are in a "HAVE TO" situation on getting a transfer QB.... Just don't see what we need on our bench right now.

Had Holtz allowed more PT for the backup over the past 13 games we'd be in a better position. I feel better about the potential of either one of the guys we've seen vs what we saw out of Smith in 2017. Still QB development is on our HC. He owns that good or bad.

Maybe spring practice will prove to be just what the doctor ordered for our existing QB1? He may just need a lot of snaps, and hopefully he can get them this spring and gain some confidence.
