Louisiana Tech used tenacious defense and timely free throws to help go on a 10-0 run late in the game and hand UTEP its first home loss of the season, winning 64-61 on Saturday night in front of 5,731 inside the Don Haskins Center.

Congrats to the Dawgs.

It sounds like Cobe Williams and Amorie Archibald just put this team on its' back with 3 min to go, and took over the game with multiple steals, timely FG's and key FREE THROWS. Yes, you read that right folks....Tech hit several key free throws down the stretch that --along with some key steals-- made the difference. Tech finished 16 of 22 (73%) from the free throw line against UTEP.

Watched it, and we almost got out coached, but these guys got it done. Huge road win in a very difficult Haskins Arena. Their first home loss of the season. Hope Crawford can rebound from injury. We missed him terribly.

He was going up for a lay up, got bumped pretty good and came down awkwardly. Knee issue. Supposedly out 4-5 weeks

It looked like a contact injury to me, like a tissue bruise that would swell. Didn't seem like a strain or hyper extension. Do you think it's a ligament injury? I thought it would swell and be tender for a week or two. At least that's what I'm hoping.

The only upside on this, is that it is less likely that he gets poached. I don’t think the basketball world had quite discovered how truly gifted this kid is....

UTEP 80 UTSA 77 in OT

Miners trailed by 25 points but rallied to force OT. UTSA shot just 32% from the ARC, which is not terrible, but nothing like the 56% they shot against us. Jackson scored 29 pts but most of that ocurred in the 1st half. He was 3 of 10 from the ARC. Live by the sword, die by the sword.
