Turns out 100 wins against sub-300 teams ain't really that impressive

We have to be one of the worst passing teams in America. And there's no excuse for it. In our back court last night, one of our guards was attempting to make a simple 8-10-foot pass to a teammate, also behind the 3-point line. So what does he do? He literally threw the ball into the 3rd row --at least 25 feet away-- of the arena. I'm like.....WTF? He's not going to find many teammates sitting in row 3!! LOL!!
Now, what kind of athlete doesn't have more control over his passing a basketball than THAT??
It's the "easy" stuff like this that drives me crazy about this team. They just can't master the easy stuff (e.g., making free throws, PASSING the ball around the perimeter without turning it over, REBOUNDING on defense, etc....) This Tech team seems to "fumble" the ball more than any I can remember in recent years. It's as if we have a team full of "Edward Sissorhands".....LOL! You just never know what's coming next. HAHA!
We played like crap and deserved to lose, but how can the free throw discrepancy be so large (23-4 free throw attempts)? Were they that much better than us at defending without fouling, was it one-sided officiating, or what? There seemed to me to be at least a few times that we were bumped with no call, but they always seemed to get the call. We didn't attempt a free throw until about 12 minutes to go in the game.
You have to expect that on the road -
We didn't drive or work the ball inside last night and when you have as many turnovers as we did before we ever got the ball into a scoring position, your free throw attempts will be less than normal -
Against Charlotte we only shot just a few FT's also - but we had fewer turnovers and made the shots

Too bad konkol can't hold on to his better players.

Harris made 8 of 8 free throws in that game. He must be getting some good coaching up there in Nevada ??
Western Kentucky is a low-foul team team and has been all year with only 311 fouls in 23 games (13.5 per game). WKU opponents have been called for 423 (18.4 per game). That low-foul mentality cost WKU one of the games in Florida as the Toppers just had 4 second half team fouls with under 30 seconds left in the game. It was a scramble to get to the bonus to force free throws at the end, and it didn't happen in time.
By comparison Tech has been called for 386 in 23 games (16.8 average) while its opponents have 379 (16.5). What's bad about Tech fouls is that there are way too many shooting fouls including fouling 3-point shooters.
I'm watching Dusty May coach FAU, we didn't miss out. At least Konkol can get players.
Have you considered those Dogs?
