I think they had 4 players with over 35 minutes yesterday. Their first 5 are probably better than ours collectively and quality depth is our biggest advantage. Simple things like forcing their guards to dribble while being guarded and making them run around to get open in the backcourt makes a difference. Plus, their help defense at the rim was very good. We'll score better by attacking early in the possession. I know you agree, I just have to believe Konkol will take a different approach this go round.

You'd think they would get fatigued and have foul trouble but they usually don't. They've figured out ways to conserve energy and force their opponents to foul. I don't think they have a better team overall but they are consistent in what they do. I want to see us press them early. We had some success with it last time but already were at a big deficit.

UNT beat WKU 78-72 in OT to wrap up the NIT spot and grab the #1 seed in Frisco.
I expect that if/when Tech, UNT, and WKU hook up in Frisco we will see more nailbiters.
I'm not a fan of this pod play scheduling. But this year the pod play is highlighting the strength at the top of the conference.
Not that anyone on the selection committee or in the national media will notice. But I'm impressed with how Commish Judy is out there hitting the air waves , touting our conference and building our case for being a 2 bid league. What leadership!
Or as Alfred E Newman would say: "What, leadership?"
I always tell people that everything changes at a Conference Tournament. Playing games on back-to back-to back nights only happens in conference tournament play. It doesn't even happen in the NCAA Tournament. But all those games played on consecutive nights in tournament play take a real toll on most team's legs. This is where some fans start complaining about "tired legs". Thus, IMO, the teams with the biggest players and the best inside game usually wins.
