Scenario:
people are starving! Some region has no food, for whatever reason. Trump orders the military to immediately ramp up, work with the Red Cross and other organizations and deliver food and relief supplies as soon as possible! He issues EO to remove any regulatory road blocks...gets big food companies to donate food stuffs. And in typical Trump fashion he quips, "everything is fine, there is no food crisis there...we got this."
Months later, most of those people saved from starving to death because of the quick action of Trump are ignored and morons like Goosey hone in on "everything is fine, there is no food crisis there..." And of those who might have died from lack of food it was 100% the responsibility of local Dem officials who dropped the ball on food distribution. But, of course, it would still be Trump's fault.
Point is, focus on what someone does, rather than what someone says.

Yeah, but did you read the caveats, data sources and explanation of what that data is for? This isn’t really a quiet update of survival rates.
If you believe China is misreporting deaths, then this data undercounts. It also includes all asymptomatic cases, which is appropriate for epidemiological modeling, but that isn’t really how we have been looking at the death rate.
