It isn’t even the same. Trump had access to intel if the lab leak theory is true. He was just more focused on trying to get a trade deal win at that time.
Fauci wasn’t a victim of information that was available. He was providing the right advice based on the facts - which were that we didn’t have significant community spread and we had a shortage of masks for people that were much more likely to be exposed to the disease. We saw what the public did with toilet paper. Can you imagine the surgical mask shortage that would have followed if Fauci was pushing masking at the end of February and early March. The hospital workers were infinitely more likely to encounter COVID than the average member of the public at that time. Which is why Fauci was careful to caveat his mask guidance with the words “at this time.”

Just think about this for a second... What if, what we all (except Goosey) have suspected for a year, that it is shown that China engineered the virus and it was intentionally or accidentally released. That the CCP Govt used this as a means to "level the playing field" and get their economy back on track. That is why they did not limit travel in and out of Wuhan providence for months after it first happened. Allowing hundreds of thousands of potentially infected people to travel to all parts of the world.
What would the outrage be towards China? What would/should a response be?
This is why they could never admit that it was intentional.. Remember.. as much as progressives would like to ignore it and do, China has slaves, concentration camps, and has killed tens of millions of its citizens.. so this is certainly something they are capable of.

That is the problem with pushing new conspiracy theories daily. It cost Trump every shred of credibility.
We still haven’t seen evidence to support a lab leak. The current evidence overwhelmingly supports that this was a natural virus that made the jump to humans, just as SARS and MERS.
And you will probably never see evidence or convinced because China isn’t going to allow access or investigations. All you have is a defector who was first hand knowledge.
The Propagation MSM would never and has never given Trump credit for anything because they hate him that much. The MSM today would make Goebbels proud and amazed.
