Where could we possibly find a left of center news outlet? Does such a thing exist?

The Senate bill has not been published. Schumer has been fairly tight lipped.

That’s not true. But I think you’re illustrating why that would be pork in this instance. Not only is there no evidence that more dollars for boarder enforcement would aid in the slowing of COVID 19, the “increase” in our capacity because of those individuals is statistically insignificant. Thus, it’s a thing the GOP wants that has nothing to do with the issue at hand. Thus, pork.

So, let’s not act like only one side is playing politics.

A pox on both their houses. McConnell’s righteous indignation is particularly humorous...he’s the swamp king!

He's probably embarrassed by Pelosi, the "Squad" and Congress.

I really don't think we will ever hear the results of your question. The answer will be perceived as racist and Trump doesn't want any American-Chinese or American-Asians hurt by something they didn't bring to our country or do. Although if visiting China they might have inadvertently carried the virus here; but again not their fault at the time.
No harm should ever be allowed to come to them as Trump stated yesterday. We all agree on BB&B and should around the country.

So no I bet it will be years until we read or hear these demographics.
    Yep.

    Louisiana:

1,388 cases (987 cases in the New Orleans area, and 63 cases in Baton Rouge)
    46 deaths
43 of 64 parishes infected (Bienville and Richland have joined)

The rate of those testing positive is down to 16%.

The 40-49 age group has the most cases, followed closely by 50-59, 70+, and 60-69. Not much differences between the numbers. And in Louisiana 58% of the cases are women.

Don’t forget that you want illegal immigrants to get tested, too. That is much more likely to happen in sanctuary cities.

It is remarkable that Louisiana is doing so poorly with this disease on a per capita basis. Wondering if there is a Mardi Gras travel aspect which led to more seeding in NOLA.

No, I personally want them gone. Send them back to their home countries. Period!
"Build that Wall" and keep them from flying into the country!

Trump has been right since day one and liberal Dems wrong!

Not only Mardi Gras but a Cher concert which occurred about 2 weeks ago. And some other events during the January to early March period. New Orleans in particular and Lousiana in general is a huge tourism destination. That includes a lot of foreign visitors. In my capacity at Melrose Plantation I have seen lots of folks from all over the world, with France being the #1 place of origination. So, of course, there was a lot of opportunity for exposure to this virus, in big crowds, people close together.

No, we don't want illegals tested...just toss them back across the border.

Certainly arguable. If that is the biggest poison pill from the republicans the Dems would be on shaky ground. It sounds like the repubs poison pills aren't too hard to swallow as we may get a deal with minimal adjustments. I think the backlash against the dems was a wake up call on this one. When even the liberal media starts calling them out they had to know they were in trouble.

Maybe it's a signal that the hyperpartisanship will be less tolerated. Maybe that's just wishful thinking.

The money for Boarder Patrol was so that the agents who deal with people crossing the border daily could have protective masks, gloves, thermometers etc. to screen and check people entering the country illegally since the borders are supposedly closed. Truth is they are not closed, because ports of entry are open due to allowing commerce to flow in and out of US. These folks need masks

I don’t think there is any doubt that Mardi Gras is impacting LA numbers. Hell, people left there and went all over the state and probably the country. Not to mention how many locals attend.

Does asymptomatic flu go into the flu counts? If not the flu mortality rate should also be 50% lower.
