They paid a huge compliment to Ruston. Their expressed purpose is to find ultra conservative, faith based communities in which to film. I just hope Ruston shows them the love of Jesus if they interact with them.
Amen!
And that's because "ultra conservative, faith based communities" are usually very tolerant unlike the violent left (wolves in sheep clothing). However, the far leftist agenda of these groups are at times also just trying to stir the pot and hoping for retaliation by the unchurched of the far right .
I think that nobody is going to bat an eye over this. We are talking about an HBO filming that will be in and out before anybody notices. This is a college town, so folks are used to the unusual.
KS, you may be right.
Are we talking NHRA or IHRA? Will Brittany Force be there?
When I was a student, the Tech Talk had an interview with a student, who used a pseudonym, who talked about being gay in north Louisiana. It was a big shock to many that there was actually a gay student at Tech. LOL.
Then there was the time the Union Board ate a $5,000 or $10,000 fee when it cancelled a Halloween concert after its announcement drew a bad reaction from the church crowd. The bands in the lineup were all metal with scary names, including Helloween. The UB actually said that they didn't realize that was the name of the band--they thought it was Halloween--or they never would have scheduled them. What a bunch of lying cowards.
Now we have a brewery on the main drag (Beer! OMG!), and drag queens dancing at the frat bar.
Ruston may finally be growing up.
A good example of why the news media is so hated:
The headline is "Controversy builds over drag queen show filming in Ruston". Yet, there is nothing to suggest that in the story. No one quoted as opposing it. No one boycotting it or saying anything negative toward it. So who at KTVE wrote the headline?

I didnt get the impression it directed at the city. I think I know the Facebook group he's referencing, and I'm not even on facebook.
Imagine the BB&B, distilled to pure toxicity, without any of the mediating comradery or humor. And directed at the Ruston community and city govt, in particular.
