I like playing P5 opponents early in the season. Sometimes you can catch the P5 off guard, because there's not much game film on us. More importantly, I believe a win over a P5 would give our home attendance a real shot in the arm. .

After this season's home slate, we will need a "real shot in the arm." Looks like I may go to more away games this year than home.

Glad to see that game scheduled but that is unusually late in the year for an SEC or P5 team to be playing the La Tech's of the world. Those games are normally played at the beginning of the season and then one late in the season, but no later than the first weekend in November - usually for the Homecoming Game.

The SEC schools traditionally save an OOC game (and usually not a premium, high-level P5 game) for the week before their rivalry week on Thanksgiving. This is where a lot of them plug in their FCS games (instead of the first game of the season). Lots of them are from the Southern Conference, thus it's SoCon Saturday.
