That's fine so long as we don't schedule fireworks.

I like NSU for an FCS game. However, that quote above is the only one that bothers me. That's about twice as much as I would have expected to pay. Just seems like a lot of scratch for an in-state FCS school. Tech officials better promote the crap out of this game. The Bulldogs will pay the Demons a $400,000 guarantee for the game, according to the copy of the contract.
Thinking it's a good deal because the other team may bring more folks is so 1970s. We are not in the Gulf States now. Time to ditch these local FCS teams and start playing some FBS teams that actually bring some of OUR fans to the games.
Playing a state FCS team every 12-15 years often helps attendance some. It's more of novelty when spaced out like that and draws some interest. For instance, if we hosted McNeese now I think we'd see a pretty good showing by their fans since it's been so long since we last played, and many remember "back in the day" when we would battle them for conference supremacy. Some casual Tech fans might turn out for the same reason. But, start playing them on some regular basis and attendance would nose dive quickly.
