We love slack. Signal is another good option for sensitive conversations as you can set a timer and it will delete everything after the allotted time.

Happy St. Joseph's Day! I love those St. Joseph's altars stacked with all that great food. It's mostly an Italian tradition. But I suppose such gatherings are cancelled this year .

Did your organization get rid of internal email when you went to Slack? I don't like that move. Both would be fine. I love Slack for team projects, but worried about the other.

You guys are ahead of the curve. Slack/Teams is the future IMO. Which is more bad news for people who rely on control of information to derive their value in organizations (organizational experts).

We did not, but we’re a small shop...just two of us. Great for collaboration when you’re not in the same place.

Kind of a interesting name for a company hawking business-related software. "Slack," as in "we're slacking off around here!" Or, "we need more slack time."

Slack was hacked 4 times and user information/data was compromised. They say they have cleaned that up now. It's like any other such Cloud-based shared-user software, has its pros and cons. No, I have not used it personally. But have used and still use other such platforms. They are useful.

I keep my email and Slack up all the time on phone and laptop. It is coming from both sources, which is sometimes difficult to keep up with. Outside emails will still come in at a fast pace, so that is my worry. I will just be keeping up with 2 sources (not to mention my social media LOL). I am just so used to keeping my emails organized that it is a big change.

With my organization being spread out nationally, it only makes sense. I think doing it all at once is the way to go - otherwise we would continue to rely on email for internal communication. The difficult part is having Slack and external email at the same time. That will have to continue and I get a LOT of external email.

Yep. We already had too many channels of communication to stay on top of it. Email needs to die off fast so that people can get back to spending their time at work doing things beyond managing your inbox!

Well, you finally got something right. Cisco/WebEX Teams is the faster Enterprise version of Slack (for those of you who are familiar with Slack). It truly is the future. WebEX Teams keeps people and teams connected anytime and anywhere. It offers the speed of Chat, but does so much more. It brings together messaging, file sharing, video meetings, desktop sharing (if you need to show your desktop to a technical support person), white boarding, phone calling, and other tools you use to streamline teamwork.

    HogDawg,

I love the Cisco products available for us like Jabber, Webex, and our office is outfitted with Room Kit. Really makes communication and collaboration much easier especially with global work partners.
