If we have a 2020 season, who starts at QB in week one? Why?

The kid from Abilene Christian will start and Allen will be next up after that. This is going to be a learning year for Aaron Allen similar to what Colby Cameron, Ryan Higgins had to do.
Whomever Skip wants to start. Whomever doesn't put the ball in danger often. Whomever gives us the best chance to defeat University of Nevada - Loser Ville.
That's a good question. I am not even so sure Anthony will be the starter, so maybe we will never know. Abilene Christian was very average on offense by Southland Conference standards, plus they had a losing record. ACU finished 8th out of 11 teams in passing offense. He wasn't listed as one of the three QB's on the all-conference team. With all the QB's transferring this past season not really impressed with who we got. Time will tell if he works out.
This upcoming season could be real and it could be fun, but it might not be real fun. At least we won the conference championship last sea...... er wait a minute.
It will be Allen.

The lack of Spring Practice is not good for Luke Anthony (Abilene Christian Transfer).
Maybe they'll allow some extra days tagged onto fall practice. Surely Allen is in the #1 slot by default. If Holtz was the kind of coach who would change QBs, if warranted, I wouldn't be concerned about who is holding the Q1 label. But, we all know Skippy's track record.
After suffering thru three years of Smith, PLEASE, I'm begging you, I'm begging the Football gods....please restore order. Louisiana Tech is QB U. We know what good QBs look like and have been blessed for decades with a line of 'em. With whatever faults Tech Football has had over the years, having a crappy QB was not one of them. Until very recently...
Give me a frickin' QB worthy to wear the Tech uniform (upon which I don't care about the stripes).
^^ I agree. The transfer looks to have good ability, experience as a starter in a similar style offense. I will go so far to say that he will not only start but have a solid year. I think not being able to have a spring hurts but I think he will run the offense, make the routine throws and maybe even surprise us with some down field accuracy. We've been hurt by NW St. and Central Ark QBs in the past. This kid is not different. He can play and I dont think the starting competition will be much of a competition. Good move by Skip to go find him.
