According to that graph, statewide, the state's peak period was (roughly) March 30 thru April 9, and since then it has been "flat" or steady.

This statement even makes the data more unreliable:

"Each time a person is tested for COVID-19 and the test is positive, the patient gets counted among the confirmed cases. That means if an individual is tested more than once during the course of their illness, and the test comes back positive, the case is counted anew, even though it’s the same individual. At least one patient has shown up multiple times, plus at least two counted in the Lincoln Parish number are not Lincoln Parish residents."

So cases are less, death rate higher? Who knows.

Just saw where they will soon have 250 trackers trained and ready, but they will be deployed to the N.O. and B.R. region. JBE wants 700 trackers statewide, and then more, as needed. A Dr. Courtney Phillips said, these trackers might be able to identify folks C-19 positive people have come in contact with, but ultimately it will be up to those folks to self-quarantine. Or, this expensive program will not be effective.

Union Parish is a hot spot -

    It is literally exploding

Main two areas are nursing homes (really really bad) and the chicken processing facilities

165 cases and 9 deaths - look for those to increase pretty good this week

Natch has Pilgrim's Pride chicken plant, but so far, haven't heard about an outbreak there. But, what is it about these meat processing plants that is causing outbreaks? Is it the close proximity of the workers on the line, or something more, like the meat itself?

Yes, the lion's share of cases are occurring in nursing homes and similar adult assisted-living facilities, well, the bulk of the deaths are. I see posts on FB and on blogs of folks wanting the truth! real information. People also want accurate, up-to-date numbers on those previously listed as a case, but who has since recovered. The state has been trying to update those numbers weekly, usually on Monday, so it should come out today. And short of people's names (HIPPA) folks want to see stats on age, sex, race, and where the person was (is) who has died or has it. IDK how possible, how practical, that is. I do know IF the "guvmint" from the White House to governorships to other political office-holders hope to get a hold on the spread of C-19 they had better step up with the communication. Folks who have heretofore been cooperating and would continue to do so, are growing frustrated and demanding more information...real information.

Stay at home order to end when the current order expires. Moving to Phase 1 which will expand the number of non-essential businesses that can be open. Those businesses will start at 25% capacity and there will be more guidance on June 1 (to take effect June 5).

LOL! Thanks for posting that, Guissy. So essentially, the data is all crap. Officials (if you can all them that) are double-counting many patients. So anyone who gets a "second opinion" test gets counted twice, or more, depending on how many times they test. Geez people....find a hobby other than this.

I don't believe the death count either. They are not in line with the norms.

Each time a person is tested for COVID-19 and the test is positive, the patient gets counted among the confirmed cases. The death count is correct, if not too low.

In looking at the numbers over the past week it doesn't look like New Orleans has been a problem at all. It's Region 8 - Monroe - that's been the main problem.
