Someone should investigate Pelosi to confirm just how little brain function is located beyond the Botox.

And the excuse for the $25 million was to prevent people losing their jobs, even for non-profits...hmmm, now who on this forum made that argument justifying the expenditure? Anyone remember?

It does prevent people from losing their jobs, just apparently not the orchestra.

Which dear leader supported. Y'all see how many of the big businesses we are bailing out are still firing and furloughing employees?

YES and that is EXACTLY why I, and many others, wanted a CLEAN BILL! But you didn't, and Goosey certainly didn't. So don't start acting all high and mighty now.

Yes indeed! And a line item veto which finally has a chance of passing when Trump gets 4 more years.

TRUMP FAVORED MUCH OF THE PORK! Especially the bailouts of big companies that immediately laid folks off after their bailout was secured.

A simple search would find posts by Dawg80 and me (as well as others) criticizing the bill and Trump for supporting it.

We aren't as one dimensional as you haters.

You said you were out on Trump if there was any pork in the bill. Were you telling the truth?

I don't see 80's posts because he's full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.

I asked which candidate would not support such a spending spree.

I am certainly not going to go vote for Biden....cutting off nose to spite face kind of thing. Won't go vote third party either because I do not like wasting my time (voting to "make statement" is not my style). So either I will vote for the person that will not do this kind of stuff, or I will not vote.

Is that a no? Those were two separate posts. Sounds like you and 80 should write in Justin Amash.

A line item veto was needed 200+ years ago in this country. It wouldn't hurt to have it now though.

I mentioned previously that the South, when we ratified our Constitution, included the line item veto for the president, with a provision that Congress could overturn them. But it was line item by line item. In this case, had Trump vetoed, say the Kennedy Center funding, each congressperson, in both chambers, would have to record their vote for/against overturning the veto. It would take a 2/3 vote to overturn a veto. Thus, in our current partisan, divided government nothing would be overturned and the American taxpayer would win! Of course, that assumes the president (Trump) would veto most anything not related to the bill's purpose. That gives the party in power...which would mean the WH and one chamber, a lot of power! I still think we'd better off with it because the Federal government would be more deadlocked and muted, allowing more power to lay with the states. There is that bastardized 10th Amendment out there...
