If C-USA went the model of a 10-game conference schedule, what would you like to see?
Option A: Keep current schedule and add games with 2 teams from East Division (aka ODU, CLT, FAU, MTSU or WKU)
Option B: Play only games vs. East division - Home/Home with 4 teams and single games with 2 teams
- USM, UNT, Rice, UAB x 2, UTSA, UTEP x 1
Option C: Play 6 other west teams and add games w/ 4 SBC West Teams so we teams don't have to travel as farJUST KIDDING
- USM, UNT, RICE, UAB, UTSA, UTEP + UL-M, UL-L, ARK ST, TX ST
LHSAA says no scrimmages (even intrasquad) until phase 4.
LHSAA will be lucky to get in district only and shorten playoffs. Right now they workout in pods so if one test positive only that pod quarantines. Once full practice begins and COVID is still "coviding" entire teams will be impacted. Just seems to me that HS football might be winter football which hurts the small schools where numbers are limited and kids play multiple sports
It would be much worse if the NCAA tried this. None of the players projected to be first or second round picks would play. A few projected to be third round picks might play. Who could blame them? The rest of the players would complain having to prepare and play two entire seasons in a 12 month period. College football administrators would forever lose the "for concern of player safety" excuse for all future decisions. This would be a blatant money grab by the NCAA that the players could use for their argument for being paid. I really hope it doesn't come to this.
MEAC cancelling fall sports - CLT was to play Norfolk State
NCAA to allow 2 FCS wins to count toward bowl eligibilty.
CAA (FCS) will not play a conference season. Teams are free to put together an independent schedule.
I just heard this on sports talk radio. No discussion, just an announcement. Understanding the Big Ten and Pac-12 moves to conference only for better control over Covid situation in theory, what is the basis for this move? It may be something very obvious and simple that I am missing, and probably is. The only thing I can think of is the conference would have no liability. I see other conferences saying "only conference games" but this seems odd to me. The CAA is a FCS powerhouse.
