UL-LLLL adds UAB and UCA to 2020 schedule
UAB also lands a game in 2020 vs. UCA.
@BrettMcMirphy: With ODU not playing this fall, Conference USA East schools - Charlotte, FAU, FIU, Marshall, Middle Tennessee & WKU - will each play only 7 league games, while C-USA West schools will play 8 league games, sources told @Stadium
So weird.
Not sure what would have been a better option, and this season is going to make the record books all wonky anyway (and to be honest, college football is so uneven historically that maybe it won't matter).
But, playing uneven numbers of conference games just feels off.
Of course, by the time it's all played out it's pretty unlikely that all 13 teams get all of their 7-8 conference games in anyway. Be even weirder to see CUSA standings someday where you have one team at 4-1 and another is 3-4 and another is 6-2 and another is 1-2.
MLB standings kind of look off like that now.
@PeteThamel: Source: Conference USA is leaning toward mandatory three times a week COVID-19 testing during competition weeks. It may take a few days to formalize, but that's the expectation around the league. This would give CUSA and the Big 12 the strictest testing standards.
So, CUSA East schools + UAB and UTSA, right?
Doesn't that have the potential for some tie-breaking drama? Imagine 7-1 Tech, 7-1 USM, 6-1 UAB (all losses split between the 3 schools). Does that tie-breaker come down to head-to-head between Tech and USM? Is UAB just out because of the winning percentage? You think that'll go over well?
ODU needs donors https://odusports.com/news/2020/8/11...o-step-up.aspx
The problem with a campaign like that is, the university runs the risk of cannibalizing some of next years donations. $4.5M is a lot of money to raise....especially with no ODU football season to be played in 2020, and assuming the usual supporters have already made donations for this season. ODU is asking a lot .
Who is "UL" ? University of LOUISIVILLE ?
