Is it possible some of these teams and conferences are sandbagging? There could be significant revenues for those teams and conferences holding out that may decide to go ahead and play some games this season.

There will be NO significant new revenues for anyone -

Even the P5 will take a hit due to the fact that they are not delivering the promised inventory

How many season tickets are going to be renewed in these 70,000+ football stadiums when no one knows if they will be playing?

How much local advertising $$$ will be lost on local broadcasts be cause you signed a contract for 12 games but at max you may get 9 or 10?

How many millions will be lost on suite payments?

Parking?

Vending?

I'm not talking G5 - I'm talking P5's

If you read the fine print in LSU's audit report you will see where all their tens of millions are eat up in debt service payments that are stretched out for 30 years - and they actually end up making a little money when everything is said and done

Personally - I haven't renewed $2,000 of season football tickets and $2,000 of season basketball tickets because of the situation

The supposed "student-athletes" had better be very careful - they are fixing to slay the goose that lays all their golden eggs

And yes their eggs are golden - they have advantages and economic windfalls and advantages the standard student doesn't have not will they ever have

Was late coming in today and listened to the first 30 minutes of Dan Patrick. He reiterated there was a vote by the Big 10 presidents over the weekend and Nebraska and Iowa St were the only two that voted to play. Every president was asked one by one where they stood and what they wanted to do and the vote was 12 - 2. The way it was supposed to go down was the PAC 12 & Big 10 were going to announce at the same time their decisions not play but when word got out early and the uproar began everything changed. Patrick's comment on whether or not there was a "vote" is simply semantics; how could you know 12 were for canceling and 2 were for playing if there wasn't a vote. That said, the Big 10 is meeting at 10:30 today to go back over everything and the expectation is they'll delay making a decision for a few more days.

Patrick also talked to SEC commissioner Greg Sankey. He said he'd had no conversations with any other commissioners about having non-conference teams play with them like Ohio State and Texas. He said for a lot of reasons he didn't see how that was possible and he kind of marveled at comments attributed to him he hadn't made. Sankey stressed the conference wants to play but has an obligation to take care of the athletes and this was a very unusual situation. He thought there were a lot of reasons for SEC fans to be hopeful the season would be played.

Wish our conference commissioner was as thoughtful and as much a leader as Sankey is. A lot of conference commissioners could take lessons from him.
