Same. Skip has kept our coaching staff solid through his connections. I can’t complain about that at all... we have lost so many assistants and still remained a winning team. I like Skip.

There are several NFL teams with coaches that lose on the basics (ala Broncos and Falcons within the first two weeks)

Let’s win the conference this year and really get on a roll. I’m optimistic.

I don't know much about this guy

At least we went FBS this time

But this guy is also just a few phone calls away through our existing connections. I hope it was a thorough search...

Seems alright. UCF is a decent place to draw from. They’ve been the kind of program most G5 level teams would hope to be like over the past few years.

I am sure none of us knows much about him other than what you gave us to read. There are thousands of Deputy/Associate/Assistant AD's to pick from, we can't know them all. If we only knew someone at Arkansas who could ask around about his time there.

He has been a part of or at least around a couple of good coaching hires. From looking at the program, the NEXT UP recognition he garnered seems legit. I know some folks wanted their favorite homegrown guy for the job, but I am kind of glad we went outside for this hire. I am not overly concerned about the connection of hiring the deputy to the brother of our former basketball coach. That just might be a coincidence. With any hire only time will tell, but I support this decision and hope everyone gives him a fair shot and let's all hope it works out. The only thing I do not like is that his doctorate is from Arkansas. I have never been impressed with PhD's from Arkansas.

PS I include his Arkansas bio which explains his work there.

He's got an Eliana and Alyssa. 2 of my kids names (Even though my Elliana is with 2 L's) . That proves he's a smart man. I like him.

Odd that you base your opinion on his intelligence more so on the name of his children than the fact that he has an earned doctorate. At least you like him. Good times.

I talked to a friend who knew him when he was at the UA. He said Wood is a great guy and was very highly thought of at Arkansas.

Re: New AD | Dr. Eric Wood

I wonder how well "Dr Wood" (Ha, what a great name, huh?) knew Jessica Dorrell at Arkansas?

Dr. Wood spent seven years working in the Razorbacks' athletics department from 2009-16, and in his final year earned a doctorat
e in sports management from Arkansas.
    https://www.wholehogsports.com/news/...rom%20Arkansas.

The notes suggest the 51-year-old Petrino and 25-year-old Jessica Dorrell were intimate for approximately five months, from September or October until this past February. According to the notes, however, the university discovered 326 phone calls and 7,228 text messages between the two that date back to April 2011. And they show Petrino and Dorrell claimed to have ended the intimate part of their relationship once it became clear she wanted to apply for a job under Petrino -- one he wanted her to "earn." She was hired on March 28 and has since resigned.
