Instead of a FBC school AD this time, we will go for a Sun Belt AD.
I say list out our immediate needs and issues we face, ask the candidates on what plan of actions they will take to fix them.
This is a hire I think we need to find a well experienced person, not a risky hire in a young hopeful "rising star".
I’m glad to see McClelland go. He pretty much minimized everything good about Tech sports and just about destroyed Tech football attendance with his ridiculous parking pass and season ticket prices. You can’t make money off the fans when you price gouge them out of attending games. Hopefully whoever the new guy is, he’ll have a big brain with big ambitions and the appropriate strategies to go along with it. I’m looking forward to returning to a time when I’ll be confident in Tech’s athletic leadership.
The new AD better start with rebuilding everything TMAC has destroyed...such as gameday and attendance. And then focus on scheduling for ALL sports. It is a problem across the board.
Well he did make some great WBB hires right?
Long Time LTAC contributor. Told whomever called me this year that I would never donate again until McClelland was gone.
Been expecting another phone call; but, given my cellular "service" is on and off (mostly off, since Laura), have not received one yet ....................
I'll be very interested in this hire. Hope they don't screw it up again.
You’re exactly right! I know very well of a Tech Football Hall of Famer... who has not been respected by McClelland as he should’ve been. I get it that McClelland wasn’t even alive when this Tech Great made his impact at the University and beyond, but it’s that exact shortcoming why McClelland doesn’t get it and has never belonged at Tech. We can do head and shoulders better than him. Let’s really do something about ‘Forever Loyal Be’ be legitimate and that begins with treating Tech People with courtesy and the respect that they earned. That goes for the Tech ticket buyers too.
