It definitely was murder with all we have seen so far. But there’s never, ever an excuse for looting, property damage, setting fires, hurting police, and murdering innocents and police. That’s called anarchy and a tool of the socialist, Marxist and communist.

How could Malcolm X have possibly know Goober and Johnny Lightweight?

    https://www.thetimesnews.com/opinion...-white-liberal

Malcolm X said: “The worst enemy that the Negro have is this white man that runs around here drooling at the mouth professing to love Negros and calling himself a liberal, and it is following these white liberals that has perpetuated problems that Negros have. If the Negro wasn’t taken, tricked or deceived by the white liberal, then Negros would get together and solve our own problems. I only cite these things to show you that in America, the history of the white liberal has been nothing but a series of trickery designed to make Negros think that the white liberal was going to solve our problems. Our problems will never be solved by the white man.”

"Malcolm X was absolutely right about our finding solutions to our own problems. The most devastating problems that black people face today have absolutely nothing to do with our history of slavery and discrimination. Chief among them is the breakdown of the black family, wherein 75 percent of blacks are born to single, often young, mothers. In some cities and neighborhoods, the percentage of out-of-wedlock births is over 80. Actually, “breakdown” is the wrong term; the black family doesn’t form in the first place. This is entirely new among blacks."

"According to the 1938 Encyclopaedia of the Social Sciences, that year only 11 percent of black children were born to unwed mothers. As late as 1950, female-headed households constituted only 18 percent of the black population. Today it’s close to 70 percent. In much earlier times, during the late 1800s, there were only slight differences between the black family structure and those of other ethnic groups. In New York City in 1925, 85 percent of kin-related black households were two-parent households. Welfare has encouraged young women to have children out of wedlock."

Keep grasping for straws Glen. I've attacked Trump from his right most of his presidency...just as I am now in his patently stupid attack on peaceful protestors. I'm more conservative than Trump and, apparently, I'm more conservative than you.

The GOP has become statist and populist. You can call that conservative until you're blue in the face, but it doesn't make it so. You can say it's conservative in relation to the DNC and that doesn't make it conservative.
Time is your friend. Impulse is your enemy. -John Bogle

If you agree with that Malcolm X quote, then that means that you surely agree with the foundation for the statement which, although you didn’t quote it, is this:

The white conservatives aren't friends of the Negro either, but they at least don't try to hide it. They are like wolves; they show their teeth in a snarl that keeps the Negro always aware of where he stands with them. But the white liberals are foxes, who also show their teeth to the Negro but pretend that they are smiling. The white liberals are more dangerous than the conservatives; they lure the Negro, and as the Negro runs from the growling wolf, he flees into the open jaws of the "smiling" fox. One is the wolf, the other is a fox. No matter what, they’ll both eat you.
So the logic goes, the White conservative is the devil you see, but the white liberal is more dangerous because his intentions are hidden.

In any event, I wasn’t alive when X said these things. I am not really a liberal, just more liberal than the extreme authoritarian conservatism that this board has evolved to become. I think our political views used to be within at least shouting distance of one another but y’all’s devout allegiance to tribal Republicansim has led you guys to an incredibly scary authoritarian place.

I don’t profess to know of support the political solutions that will solve systemic racism - though I know it is not what Trump represents, but I am committed to listening and understanding.

Nothing wrong with Trump or the GOP being a “populist“ at all.

“Populism refers to a range of political stances that emphasise the idea of "the people" and often juxtapose this group against "the elite". .“

“ politician, who strives to appeal to ordinary people who feel that their concerns are disregarded by established elite groups.
"he ran as a populist on an anti-corruption platform"

This is exactly what our country needs right now. Heaven knows it has worked the last 3 1/2 years to erase the idiotic elitist policies And ideologies of Obama/Biden/Hillary/Comey, Brannon, Pelosi and Mueller (the Swamp)!

By that logic, you should support the BLM because it is populist as it gets!

    Re: George Floyd

Malcolm X? Populism? (we had a thread on that) Who is more conservative than the others? Who is less liberal than others? Who is full of shit on this forum? Oh! I know, that's Goosey!

Side note: I give Goosey a hard time, and he deserves it most of the time, but I do so mostly because he can take it. Kind of like Hogdawg on other issues, he can take it too.

    Back to the topic...

speaking only for myself, but I know there are many others who agree with me, I don't particularly like Donald Trump. I have grown to like him more than I did because I admire his ability and steadfastness to take all the abuse and stick to his guns. In that way, ironically, I view him the same as I do Goosey! I did not vote FOR Trump in 2016, I voted AGAINST Killary. I will vote FOR Trump in 2020. I don't have to like him personally to recognize the good he is doing for America, Americans, and the free world in general. So, you can label it as populism, as nationalism, as not-quite-conservative-enough for your tastes or whatever, I just know he is doing right by the one country I care about the most...mine. You globalists out there don't like him for that reason. You want no borders, etc... if I wanted no borders and wanton globalism, I would HATE Trump! But, I am an American first...blessed to be born here. I know that and thank God my ancestors had the good sense to migrate here from Ireland in the 1880's on my father's side, and from Sicily around 1900 on my mother's side. Thank ya, thank ya, thank ya...

You anti-American globalists can carry your sorry asses elsewhere. That migration road goes in both directions, there's nothing keeping you here if you don't love America.

I can speak for this area. I live on the far west side of McKinney, TX, in the Frisco school district. This neighborhood is a melting pot of different cultures. In my immediate neighborhood, I have Pakistani's (right next door), Chinese, Indian's (the country), Hispanics, Russians (yes the ones colluding with Trump!), at least one Ukrainian family, Japanese, other Asians and our neighborhood's favorite dog walkers, Bob and Bobbie, who are African American. They both had careers in the U.S Army. I swear that's their real names. We have other blacks too. Oh, and yes, we do have a few white people in the neighborhood as well.

The school bus stop across the park from my house looks like a United Nations meeting every morning as the kids wait for their bus rides. "Subrato", a 70-something year old grandfather from India, is one of my favorite neighbors that I met a couple of years ago. He speaks very broken English, but is extremely friendly. Despite his granddaughter's obvious agitation, Subrato insists on walking her to the bus stop every morning. This routine apparently embarrasses the granddaughter in front of her friends, so she walks approximately 30 or 40 feet behind him every morning as they make their daily trek past my front porch to the bus stop. LOL! It's actually funny, but Subrato still does it anyway, with a smile on his face. It seems to be some kind of cultural obligation for him.

Anyway, this is our neighborhood, and I like it. I'm sure we don't have as many African American citizens as most towns in Louisiana, but we have a potpourri of diverse, non-caucasian, citizens from many cultures and backgrounds throughout the world. Between this multi-cultural environment, and working for a major high tech company that literally employs thousands of non-whites, I consider every day a learning experience.

I can vote as I wish and express my opinions without being called a "coon" or an "uncle Tom" or being told that I am not "black" if I don't think a certain way.
Actually, there's a LOT of truth in that. Joe Biden shined a light on that rat a couple of weeks ago when he essentially told African Americans to know your place, when he told 'em "you ain't black" unless you vote for him. WTF? This is EXACTLY the kind of predictable, "Tribal" trap African Americans need to work their way out of. Not everybody has to think the same, regardless of color, etc.... Don't let people --no matter their race or color-- call you names if you don't follow the predictable, "tribal" path.
