    Basketball Guru’s

Slow time of year, so I thought I would throw out a query.

If you were a GM/AD and could take any basketball player in history from their absolute prime, who would it be?

The conventional answer is Jordan. I actually think it is a different player and I would take the same individual for college and professional purposes.

    Thoughts?

Jordan was the best scorer ever. No way to twist that.

I’ll take LeBron. I’d take him today.

MJ is the best professional basketball player ever. No need to debate the issue. MJ if I was a GM.

If I was an AD, my job description would not include recruiting basketball players, I would hire a head basketball coach to recruit players. But to answer skilldawg's question I will act as AD/Head Basketball Coach. MJ was a great college basketball player, but Dean Smith limited his potential to play in the UNC system.

For college I would go with KAJ. He went 86-4 in his 3 years at UCLA, winning 3 national championships, on the best team money could buy. This is after going 79-2 in high school. Kareem is the second best ever behind Mike.

    Conversation over.

Well it was the same person, just using a different name. Whatever he was called at the time, he had a great college career. Keep in mind he was not allowed to play as freshman.

Conversation now over. This issue is put to rest. Done.
