Let's get PC and change the name of "Rivalry in Dixie"

I don't care about the name just because it was such a long time in between when we played them. 18 years (1992 to 2010) a lot of traditions get lost or changed.

I just want it to be THAT game and I want it to stay on a relatively consistent weekend every year. Preferably either late October or late Nov which are both great travel times for fans.

That has less to do with the optics of the name than it does with our inability to capitalize on any marketable foothold.

True, but it speaks to the sad state of C-USA's rivalry situation. Neither Tech nor USM wants this game to be during one of the last two weeks of the season when school is not likely in session.

There is no trophy, plaque, or anything to play for. Both schools do not put much into it to make it a special game.

Winning coach gets a six pack of Dixie and the players get Dixie cups that may or may not have Dixie beer in it depending on if the ATF is around. Winners get to shout "We've got big Dixie what you got?"

The loser has to listen to the Dixie Chicks on repeat the rest of the night.

For the same effort it takes you to flush, you can say "the Southeastern US". Or "Native American". Or "developmentally disabled". Or "same sex couple".

The willingness to extend a simple courtesy to others shows your strength of character, not weakness.
