I’m stoked for this game.
Our roster is loaded. Solid QB play and hopefully we run them off the field.
I recently watched the replay of their OT loss @ Florida State (nothing else on TV at 1am)...they had a respectable amount of talent on the field in that game. Didn’t look up who was returning
I expect them to run a few trick plays right out of the gate. We stick to our game plan and it will not even be close.

I suppose Monroe is a LOT happier about this scheduled game than we are. I don't care about it, and if the China virus rears its ugly head to the point the game is cancelled, I won't care. None of the current players, or most, were even born last time we played. Most Tech fans have moved on past the old, stupid "Louisiana" college rivalries, looking at the bigger picture nationally. The northeast Indians are stuck in the past...the 1980's...as are so many NSU Demon fans, longing for a return to the old State Fair Game...ugh! College athletics, especially football, has changed but too many folks are stuck in the past.
The game is all about Monroe trying to prove themselves that they belong in D1 (FBS).
Maybe so. But I have to wonder if this Covid situation won't change the economics for the smallest D1 schools like ULM and lead to them dropping down. Conventional wisdom has said they couldn't afford to drop down since football helped pay for other sports. But if we have a "New Normal" (hate that term), can they afford to stay?
I think Tech is above whatever the threshold may prove to be for staying or leaving D1, though not by a huge margin. The economics of G5 football & sports is a lot tougher this year compared to prior years. The longer it drags out the more likely a G5 shake-out becomes. At least, that's what I think I'm seeing.
As far as playing ULM, getting another game in this weird year is ok. Wish it were someone else, but what the heck. It's a long way to November 21 so I'll believe it when I see. I'll take the under on it happening.
I wonder if this Tech graphic designer knows who is former Monroe sportswriter Ted Lewis. The helmets’ positionings are a contradiction of Ted’s famous column about directions the two football programs “were headed” at the time in the 1980s. Only us old timers will understand the irony of this artwork’s significance.

At this point, I'll just be happy if there is a college football season.
Monroe is now UL. The new prez will insist on this.
