I'm not sure BYU has forgiven us for snubbing them back in 2011. They offered us a home and home with the first game being at our place. Dykes said no.

No thanks to more UMass. I'd rather play a Sunbelt school. UConn is not a much better draw IMO.

I always wondered what happened to that possibility. Ridiculous that the AD allowed that opportunity to pass.

This year we'd really want to insist on holding the first game at their place. And that may be why it hasn't happened (depending on what they're looking for).

Until this week, both BYU and Tech still HAD an open date on 10/3. Now, it appears BYU has a least temporarily inserted Texas State into that slot. I say temporarily because it will likely be a "pay" game for BYU. But, since this is a tough year for money, I'm sure BYU would prefer to get a home game for 2020 that they don't have to pay cash for this year by signing a home-home with LA Tech. This would have been perfect for LA Tech too....a road game to BYU squeezed right between two home games in Ruston, with a future meeting between the two schools also in Ruston. And BYU would have been very happy to do it, because they need games.

But hey, Tech officials have pretty much let this opportunity slip away.
