That wasn't Iowa State's fault. Any school, having just gotten to 6-6, would have jumped at an invite from the Liberty Bowl. And can't blame the LB either, they had Tulsa already in and didn't want two G5s. It sucks, but it is the way CFB works.
We should have beaten Utah State and then San Jose State...and gone to the Orange Bowl.
Incarnate Word has announced that they will not play this fall. So that's not an option for BU. The question is whether BU is willing to talk to Tech about 9/19. They appear to really want to play on the 12th. If Tech can't adjust the USM game, then it's just a matter of whether BU will prefer going with the 19th to stay with the contract or going to another school (UNT and ULM have been mentioned in the discussion forums) for a payout game. (wonder what the payout would be with a 25% ticket limit though)

C-USA could easily rearrange the Tech/USM/UNT games to let Tech play Baylor on the 12th. My guess is they don't and Baylor plays UNT on the 12th.

Louisiana Tech still waiting on Baylor; AD McClelland: 'They have to choose to play us'
“Some of it is related to the date they want to play on Sept. 12 and we have a game with Southern Miss. But we’re working through that in a collective effort. There are puzzle pieces that have to fall in place in order for it to happen,” McClelland said. “But we’re going to try to find a way.”
