    Question on TV coverage?

Greetings everyone, Im not sure if this was discussed yet, if so I apologize.

Since fans will not be allowed in the stadium or have limited attendance (i don't know what has been decided), how will this affect TV coverage? Will there be increased blackouts and PPV? Im sure someone is going to try to make money on this. Anyone know about TV coverage concerning C-USA? I am so %$%^ confused with this coming football season, I feel like im in calculus class again.

It won’t effect our Tv schedule

    mattSarzsports:

    C-USA Broadcast Schedule

NOTE: This list includes telecasts that fall under the TV contracts for the conference. Any road non-conference games fall under the home team's telecast rights.

Conference USA has agreements with CBS Sports Network, ESPN, NFL Network and Stadium for the 2019-20 athletic year.

Here are the parameters for each media partner:

CBS Sports Network: Nine televised games and the conference championship game. An additional three games produced by CBS will be available to be sublicensed exclusively to Facebook. CBS Sports Network is considered to be the primary TV partner and this agreement is a five year agreement starting with the 2018-19 athletic year.
NFL Network: 10 afternoon games. New for 2019, the agreement expires after the 2022 season.
Stadium: 15 total games, with eight games through their linear TV feed and seven games on Facebook.
ESPN: All games not selected to air on CBSSN, NFL Network and Stadium will air on ESPN digital platforms ESPN3 and ESPN+.

    Re: Question on TV coverage?

There is a possibility that some of our ESPN+ games could be sublicensed since B10, P12, MWC & MAC have cancelled, along with FCS conferences

Ton of Over the Air broadcast game windows open with PAC B1G MAC MW WAC out. Is the C-USA gonna hustle . . . or get out-hustled by the Belch?

    ESPN Rights Notes
    • At least two games on ABC, with one game required to air in primetime on the east coast
    • Up to twenty games on ESPN Networks (ESPN, ESPN2 & ESPNU)
    • Of the twenty games on ESPN Networks, up to four games on Thursday nights & up to four games on Friday night.
    • Up to four of the twenty games can air on ESPNU
    • Most ESPN/ESPN2 Saturday games will air at 10pm or 10:30pm ET
    FSMG Rights Notes
    • A minimum of eight games on FOX
    • A maximum of fourteen games on FS1
    • At least four games on FOX will air in primetime.
    Big 10
    ESPN Rights Notes
    • 27 total games.
    • All intraconference games must air on ABC, ESPN or ESPN2.
    • Non-conference games can air on ESPNU.
    • At least six games in primetime on ABC or ESPN.
    FOX Sports Rights Notes
    • 24-27 total games to air on FOX & FS1.
    • Up to nine games per season will air in primetime
    • FOX will air the conference championship game every season.
    • FOX Sports will have the first choice of the weeks they want the top choice of games.
    MAC
The MAC has a national cable contract with ESPN Networks. The contract runs through the 2026-27 athletic year. ESPN's contract includes the ability to sublicense games and guaranteed coverage for all MAC games. The previous contract allowed for at least six regular season games will air on ESPN or ESPN2, plus a minimum of five games on ESPNU. ESPN3 and ESPN+ will be used for any game not distributed on some form of national or regional television. ESPN is working with the schools to self-produce ESPN3 content, providing them with production equipment. An agreement to sublicense games to CBS Sports Network from ESPN has been extended through the 2022-23 athletic year after the original agreement expired after the 2018-19 athletic year.
    MWC
The Mountain West has a pair of national cable contracts with CBS Sports and FOX Sports. Each partner retains the right to air up to 23 games in their primary packages.
I'd be happy if we could pick up some extra CBS Sports slots. Maybe some ESPNU. I don't see us get any Fox or ABC time slots. Maybe FS1, but we currently don't have a relationship with Fox, so it may be more difficult. Stadium also lost a lot of their FCS programming, so we could pick up a few there.

The rights agreement statement in post #2 was for the 2019-20 athletic year. We are now in the 2020-21 athletic year.

It's the same as last year. The contracts all say multi-year, so if anything were new, we'd already know about it.
    CBS Sports - Year 3 of 5
    Stadium - Year 3 of ? (Probably 5)
    NFL Network - Year 2 of 4
    ESPN+ - Year 3 of ? (probably 5)
