Luke Anthony threw 5 TD passes last night, and ran for another. How do you NOT make him your starter? Won't happen.

FWIW, Weston Elliott's TD pass was a beautiful throw too.

No "or" on the BYU depth chart for QB. Luke Anthony is QB1. It was pretty obvious Luke was QB1 listening to the press conference from today. https://latechsports.com/documents/2020/9/29/LA_Tech_Game_Notes_at_BYU.pdf

Holtz tried to explain it but it made him sound even dumber doing it.

He claimed he called the timeout early for fear of a 10-second runoff on a penalty. The problem with that is that it was already 4th down and the clock was stopped with the timeout. There is no 10-second runoff for a penalty on a play that starts with the clock stopped except for fouls that would have been a loss of down anyway.

Even though I do think Luke's composure and decision making gives him the edge this year, I'm excited to see how good AA can be. Tech looks to be in really good hands offensively for the next three years or more.

I told TechDawgFan that in the 3rd quarter, Luke made a BEAUTIFUL touch pass over the corner before the safety right into the arms of Hebert (I believe). I said "That's my QB. That was perfect." I hope that Aaron gets practice time, and some mop up duty. He's good too, but Luke's just got him beat right now.

I would think that is a good possibility. He seems to really enjoy playing and his family financial position would easily afford him staying in college another year.

I see people reference our close loss to USM as a reason to knock us, and simply give us no credit for it.

Luke played half the game! If he had started, we may not have scored first, but he may have gotten it together by the second drive. And I dont think its an unreasonable hindsight assumption to think he could have gotten at least 5 TDs that night if given the whole game.

Also I mean hell, with little to no practice reps going into the USM game, A win is a win, regardless of the score.

Not too mention so many guys out with covid related issues. This is going to be a wacky season for everyone. It will be a season of survival for everyone, even the best P5 teams, any team can lose any game. We have survived two games and are 2-0.

I think if Allen had QBed both games start to finish we'd be 1-1 right now with a loss at USM (33-17) and a struggling win over HBU, something like 38-31. Anthony is WAAAAAAAAY better than Allen.

Not touting Allen as the starter, but he has already proven to be better than the rock star. He would have been last year had Holtz not been determined to hide his rock star mistake.

Speaking of rockstars. A&M is still suffering through another season with their rockstar, “J’Mar” Mond.

Is our former rock star employed in the NFL, or is he toast?

Washington brought him in for a look a few weeks ago, but I don't think they signed him.
