    Boom!

Hope we have some of that herd immunity thing happening with the team.

What happened to the good old days when injury and academic ineligibility what we had to worry about? Well I guess that eligibility thing is more of an early Christmas gift.

They announced during the game Elliott was one of the players who had COVID which pretty much took him out of the QB competition. I felt more comfortable when Anthony was in there. Of course Anthony has more game experience than Allen, so Allen might really shine with more game reps.

Anthony was much better than Allen.

Way back in the 70s, the 2 QB system worked pretty well for us with Steve Haynes and Randy Robertson. But when one of them had the hot hand Coach Lambright and Coach Mick left him in and rode the momentum as long as possible.,

Im hoping next week against HBU that Skip starts Anthony, but that we have a comfortable enough lead to let Allen get playtime so he can build that confidence. He has moments he looks really good and then he just starts to panic, if he can stop that he could end up very good.

My freshman year (fall of 1978). NOT a fun trip to Monroe. We lost to Lafayette too. Ended up losing the Indy Bowl vs E Carolina. I remember the losses to NLU and Southwestern, but not the Indy Bowl.

What happened last night does make sense. Anthony has taken more than 2,000 snaps as a collegiate quarterback.

Allen had two really bad plays, but didn’t have a bad night. Anthony was slow to start but was much more natural in the pressure down the stretch.

All’s well that ends well, but Anthony probably shouldn’t have thrown the ball on the last TD. He should’ve run. Griffin Hebert saved the day.

All that said, Anthony won the job. I get needing to get Allen significant reps, but it should only happen in less meaningful situations.

And it certainly showed. Very calm down the stretch.

Yes, my bad (fixed it), but what was and remains important are the impressions made on young/potential fans each year. I was already a fan. We lost many, many fans to lsu over the next 10 years following those two bowl appearances that many still don't include in our history. One being our recent AD.

I dont think he would made it running it in.

Maybe not. He basically had one guy to beat. Still may have been higher probability than the pass.

That one guy in the edge of the endzone would have caught him. If would be down to whether he could shake him before a second defender got there.

The difference in the 2 QBs was Anthony’s ability to handle pressure
When Allen had time he made good throws & actually with a little more zip
Anthony under threw 3 balls (2 short -1 deep), he completely missed a wide open Graham down field
I think Anthony should be the starter & Allen a close 1b. Both need to learn to either run it forward not backwards or get rid of it & go to next down. Anthony’s game experience which is much more than Allen is the difference but Allen will be fine with time
