It's just another excuse for failure. Everybody knew in advance that we were dealing with a COVID environment, so special precautions might need to be taken to assure player safety. Everybody knew bad weather was coming after the hurricane. And yet, after all is said and done, ULL, ULM and Tulane are all still scheduled to play this weekend, but LA Tech is not.
It's par for the course.
the players know what it takes to play this season, and have the responsibility to avoid contact. No one in Ruston had any idea Laura would be that brutal that far inland, but that didn’t mean to throw caution away. As someone mentioned earlier-it is difficult to be a TECH fan. While others look for ways to succeed, we look for ways not to. Ugh!
Fear of COVID is dumb as it is... but I'll meet you and say "tell that to the MLB." Tell that to all the high school athletic teams here in Iowa that have played without much of a problem, including having fans in the stands, and marching bands, and everything else... WITHOUT so much as a mask mandate.
Again, the states had to discover for themselves how infective the disease was (Trump knew all along and concealed it). He certainly wasn’t promoting the idea of infection control until well after Louisiana and New York had massive outbreaks. You know what they say about an ounce of prevention...
You are deeply confused. I was concerned that we would have so many sick that we would overrun the hospitals. The blue states locked down just in time to keep their hospitals from being overrun. The curves bent just in time not to exceed capacity, but too late to spare many lives including those that were providing the care.
You can look at the infection spreads/hospitalization data from when no control measures are used and see how quickly COVID spreads.
Again...an ounce of prevention. You are better off not needing the beds in the first place. If you don’t control the spread, there will not be enough beds to go around. Period. If we run around without sensible precautions against the spread that is where we will find ourselves. History has already shown us that.
