Breaking news out of Lafayette, LA
Overheard in the Louisiana locker room was a cell phone call between Head Coach Billy Napier and his wife. Napier was heard saying, "Sweetheart, go to the refrigerator and call the Realtor on that magnet. I want us to meet with her tomorrow after church. With the economy being down it will take some time to sell our house. Also start packing stuff that we won't need until next January."
If Napier is hired by a P5, wouldn't that mark the very first time a USL coach was hired by a P5? I seem to remember there haven't been any. Perhaps I am mistaken. Regardless, he's a good coach and it is very likely schools with some serious money will come calling.
Why does that matter? My mom picked cotton when she was young.
