Tailgating can be revived pretty quick. Not this year of course but 2021 for sure. Need to get the student re-engaged in the pre-game festivities and into the stadium.
At one time we had it rollin'. To me the concept of getting as many people to the stadium area to celebrate game day only translates into more butts in the seats.

I've often heard talk of his killing tailgaiting. Just curious--what did he do to kill it? That's NOT my way of saying he didn't kill it.

IMO, the biggest thing he did was to put the 8:00AM deadline in place. That was an impossible restriction to follow if you tailgated anywhere on the north or northeast side of the TAC. Many who had been tailgating there for over 20 years lost their access.

In addition to that he moved most of what had been the busiest area for many years to the middle of the freekin' asphalt parking lot.

I hope that we think big instead of small time with the next hire. We need someone that believes we can move forward rather than a small mind that believes we should "know our place" because he came from a small school. We need someone young and hungry to make a name for himself- that actually does something to get promoted.

This is exactly why Dooley was great for us. He was HUNGRY for more.

Not sure what happened to him after he left. I think he probably would have done better to stick to administration.

I know where he is, I meant that he didn't have the success it seemed he was capable of. He was never a great coach.

Most coaches regret moving on from Tech eventually.

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE......... don't look within Louisiana (i.e. ULM, ULL, Northwestern, McNeese (again), etc) for a replacement. Surely, we can do a national search and get someone that has higher aspirations and can look for head coaches from somewhere other than Northwestern La, etc.
