Yes HBU kept it close with Texas Tech last week, the previous week they got beat pretty badly by UNT (31-57)
They only have 4 games scheduled this year, they will try to go all out for each one.

HBU offense looks dangerous. We need to put more pressure on that QB than TTU appeared to do. He was pretty comfortable and smooth in the highlights. Of course, he was throwing to some WIDE OPEN receivers in many instances. Is TTU defense that bad or HBU WR's that good? He kind of did it all. He got rid of ball quick at times, or moved slightly in the pocket to avoid the rush, and he made plays when he had good protection. Our DBs will be tested keeping up with those speedy WRs.
I think our balanced offense can wear out their defense and control the game as long as we can avoid turnovers.
Well we know after two games UNT’s defense is simply just that bad.

OMG, what have we done? LOL!
This Houston Baptist team is incredible. HBU had 600 yards of offense against Texas Tech, 572 yds IN THE AIR!!! Freshman WR Josh Sterns had 5 receptions for 209 yds and 2 TD's. His brother Jerreth Sterns, a Junior, had 12 catches for 130 yds and 1 TD.
HBU passed the ball 51 times against Texas Tech, and rushed the ball only 24 times for 28 yds.
This team is far more dangerous than what I typically want to see when an FCS team comes to town. I hope we didn't bite off more than we can chew. I don't know how UNT beat these guys.....they are much better than UNT.
I watched this one too. UNT's offense looked very explosive. But we'll worry about that later. LOL!
The Houston Baptist QB threw for 480 yds against UNT! Daaaamn!
That's two games played by HBU against FBS schools, and they averaged throwing for 526 yds. Has LA Tech ever beaten anyone who passed for 526 yards against us?
I sincerely hope LA Tech is ready for this.
Texas Tech has had some virus issues too. That didn't help against HBU. And it was HBU's second game and Texas Tech's first.
Say a prayer for our secondary. I simply do not think they're ready for this.
I think we can settle down but might be a tense first half
Tech -27. This is not my opinion. My opinion would be to take HBU +27.
I think we win comfortably with our offense dominating the rushing game and controlling time of possession. We shouldn't go looking for a shootout, and don't give them extra possessions with turnovers. We have more talent and depth (well, in a non-Covid world), but its important how you utilize that talent and coach it.
Slow it down with the running game and fake injuries. Sound familiar?
Tom Luginbill was the color analyst for ESPN on the HBU-Texas Tech game.
The next morning on SiriusXM he said that Texas Tech did exactly what you don't what to do against HBU. They rushed 3 and dropped 8. HBU's QB slowly picked them apart while putting together longer drives. He said that Texas Tech would have been better off putting pressure on him throughout the game, which is apparently what North Texas did.
He's going to get his yards and points.
North Texas gave up some big plays but also forced some short drives. That put HBU's defense right back onto the field. By the second quarter HBU's defense was gassed.
