    Louisiana Tech had a pair of Bulldogs recognized by the Louisiana Sports Writers Association as freshman linebacker Tyler Grubbs was named the LSWA Defensive Player of the Week and redshirt freshman kicker/punter Jacob Barnes earned LSWA Special Teams Player of the Week.

    I was very impressed by Barnes' leg on Saturday night. His kickoffs into the end zone take enormous pressure off of LA Tech's kickoff coverage team. Congrats to both of these young men!
