And you were speaking badly about Louisiana...shame on you. Our state Constitution does have a Bill of Rights, ratified in 1868 this version adopted, or ratified, the 14th Amendment of the US Constitution and created a Bill of Rights for the state. Very similar to the US Bill of Rights. It was also in 1868, with the adoption of this version of the state Constitution, Louisiana was readmitted back into the United States*.
*Hmmm, many people erroneously refer to the conflict of 1861-65 as the "American Civil War," yet by definition a "civil war" is fought WITHIN a country, factions fighting for control of the same government. If the war was truly a "civil war" that means that the Southern states had to be apart of the same country. So...why did Louisiana and the other Southern states have to be readmitted then?
