It doesn’t say it CAN’T be done, but it isn’t required to be provided by companies in Louisiana and many other states.

My company didn’t ditch its policy. The rule used to be that policies had to provide certain minimums to qualify as an ACA plan. And if you didn’t have suitable insurance, you had to pay a tax/penalty. That was the enforcement mechanism for the individual mandate which was intended to balance out the costs of expanding coverage, including coverage for new enrollees with pre-existing conditions.

But was an orchestrated lie from the “pits of hell” by Obama/BIDEN/Pelosi from day one.

No it wasn't. That was NEVER going to balance out the costs of covering pre-ex, pregnancy coverage for ALL women, and dependents to age 26.

Thanks to Trump, there is no fine now.

Thanks to Obama, there is no catastrophic plan to be had. There's some stuff out there that claims to be, but be careful. I would never buy it or sell it.

Short term coverage is really the only individual/family option, but like the old days, it has a pre-ex clause so be careful with it too.

If you own your own business you can set up a small group. That premium will be much less than Obamacare and offer much better coverage.

You said you would tell me the company providing the policy. Still interested.

I know, living in Louisiana, we would pay higher premiums, given the health status of people here, much like our auto insurance is higher, still the best solution for HC insurance coverage is to allow it to be treated just like all other insurances. People with pre-ex will pay even higher premiums, given the added risk. That's how insurance works. In auto insurance someone with a history of speeding tix and accidents pays more than someone with a clean record. It's not that they can't get it, they just pay more.

Insurance companies offer discounts for various items, like an alarm system on your car, theft-protection, and the same types of things are available for homeowners. Well...quit smoking, lose weight, make yourself healthier and your HC premiums will go down some.

Then! no more Medicaid and Medicare as you know it. Take all of that money and create a pool whereby poor people can apply for assistance to buy HC insurance from the private sector. Everyone will have to participate in the market...no more freebies anywhere, including the ERs at private hospitals. But, there can be publicly funded walk-in clinics whereby for a small fee, say $15, you can get basic care for the simpler things. No one would be required to have HC insurance, no mandates, but be careful what kind of choices you make. I foresee the advent of small finance companies, like the payday loans, where someone with no HC insurance going to those, perhaps mortgaging their house to get some money to pay for major medical procedures, like surgery. Like I said, be careful of the choices you make.

The Free Market offers the best solution, but it has to be truly free! Cannot have government meddling mucking it up.

The people have spoken and they don’t want that. Nor does Trump.

"the people" are ignorant, and people like you lie and deceive to keep them in the dark. No reason to throw Trump into the mix, he is irrelevant in this matter. This has been going on a long time before he entered politics and will be going on long after he is no longer involved.

Everyone, who actually knows (not the ignorant masses), knows my plan, the FREE MARKET, is the best solution. But it takes a powerful weapon out of the hands of commie globalists, and that is the real crux. I am glad you no longer try to pretend to be a libertarian...that was so ridiculous...and instead proudly wear your commie badge.

Your concerns about free ER was caused by Reagan’s EMTALA. Seems like you are the one that has a hard time identifying which presidents are actually advocates of the free market.

I am for a FREE MARKET in HC insurance. Is that simple, to the point, statement too complex for you to understand?

I don't give a shit which presidents did what, when. You keep citing what some presidents did as if that will alter my view, it doesn't. Unlike you, apparently, I think for myself.

Then you need to get to work in pitching your vision (what the GOP has been so bad at). This is a democratic republic and those representing us have seen that there is no appetite for denying coverage to those who pre-existing conditions.

While you celebrate presidents like Reagan and Trump that promote the opposite in HC.
