You just said in this thread, we "haven't had the same lineup." That's a direct quote. So, which is it? Is our OL one? Or do we have different lineups? Honest question. You jumped into the discussion about Robert McFarland's OL like you knew something everyone else didn't?

There was a really good discussion during the post-game radio show. Hankinson went down a couple of different times during the game. At that point you're playing 2 tackles who were penciled in during the summer as 3rd teamers.

Those 2 and 4 others missed the BYU game and this past week of practice due to contact tracing. So you're asking backup lineman who haven't practiced for more than a week to step in with almost no preparation, as Tech didn't find the starters were going to miss the game until Friday.

That led to Anthony locking on to his primary receivers. He never seemed to go through his progressions, as he knew he wasn't going to have time to hit his checkdowns.

Combine all of that with the fact our offense uses limited formations and doesn't really have a backup plan and you get something really ugly.

Thats what my mind went to. Some of these guys hadn’t practiced in weeks. We don’t even know for sure when they were cleared for practice, it could have been Sunday, it could have been Friday.

Holtz was gambling with such a thin line the past few weeks.

The 4 guys that were ahead of our two "3rd team" tackles are Hankinson, Willie Allen and who? Who are the other two guys that were ahead of the "3rd teamers" on our roster, and are they healthy now? Can we expect them and Hankinson to be back this week against Marshall?

Lewis and Campbell. And according to what was said on the radio this morning, the guys we lined up with on Saturday were actually options 7 and 8 at tackle this summer.


What we don't know is how Tech is going to approach this situation. It appears as if it's a contact tracing issue for both of them that was discovered on Friday.

Does Tech allow them to play this Saturday if they test negative throughout the week? Will either be in shape in they haven't had a full practice for 9 days?

I assume both of them tested yesterday. If I was Holtz, if they tested negative yesterday I would have them take the blood test today. If they both come back negative again I would try to bring them back. In the meantime, I would have Hester provide them with a conditioning regimen they can do alone in an isolated area.

Since the test they got dinged on was probably Wednesday we ought to get them back if tests come back ok. They will need to get rush test on Friday right?

It would be kinda dumb if they didn't have something like that in place already; but I would expect nothing less form Holtz and Hester.

I would imagine they do. But it has got to hurt that they have no access to Lambright or the SEZ if forced into quarantine.

Campbell is cleared to play this week as of now according to Holtz on the show tonight. No mention of Lewis.
